We are very pleased that you have chosen our studio to help you create once in a lifetime senior portraits.  We take great pride in our uniquely artistic portraits and client satisfaction. Our studio represents the standard for portrait excellence and exceptional service.

Over the years we have evolved from a conventional portrait business to a much more exciting Digital Portrait Studio. Here at MPS Photography, we set our goals high and have proven that we can touch the stars. Our artistic portraits are emotionally charged and often have a fashion flair.

How do I schedule my senior portrait session with MPS?

First, before you call:  check out all the Senior Sessions choices to see which one fits your style and personality best. You will need to select your session before you call so we can schedule enough time to do a great job without rushing you. Next visit our senior photo gallery for ideas for your senior portraits. Prior to booking an appointment think about what color and type of outfits you will be wearing. (Check out our clothing suggestions & tips) Will you be bringing any props for your senior session that day? When you call we will be asking you these questions as we are booking time for your session. Knowing the answers to these questions in advance will help us better prepare for your session.

Finally, pick up the phone and dial MPS at (608) 524-0167 for your appointment time or visit our studio in person to schedule your session. Many of the best time slots are taken early. Our phone rings all day setting up senior appointments. In fact, every senior appointment was taken for this past summer by mid June so don't put it off any longer.

Half of the minimum order is due at the time that you book your session. We accept most major credit cards.  If other arrangements need to be made, we will work with you the best that we can.

Once you have reserved your portrait time, kick back and relax! We will do our absolute best to help you prepare you for your session. After you have booked your date and time, you will get a brochure in the mail that gives you all of the details on how to plan for great portraits:  what to wear, what and who to bring, and many other helpful hints.

The day of your session the other half of the minimum order is due before we start taking images.

Your preview booklet will be done and ready for pick up the following day after 3:00 p.m. Since your minimum order has already been paid for, there is no deposit to take the preview booklet out to show everyone how much fun we had.   The other cool thing is that you will have a credit sitting at MPS for you to spend on anything that you'd like.  We do require an appointment to come in to pick up your preview booklet because we have a new slide show for you to watch from your session.  Bring as many people as you would like, but make sure to make an appointment because we need to be sure our Portrait Design Studio is available for you when you do arrive.

Senior Sessions

We no longer have session fees!

If you would like a friend photographed with you, great, bring them along. There is no extra charge for friends. If you would like to be photographed with your sports gear, great, bring that along. We want you to make the session as special and unique as you would like to make it. We do not charge for extra items.

30 Minute Session - $225.00 minimum order (16 pose) Just the basics. We will photograph you in just one outfit. This is perfect for our seniors that don't want their picture taken but mom insists.  This session lasts up to thirty minutes.

60 Minute Session - $350.00 minimum order (28 pose) We will photograph you in up to four outfits inside. This session is perfect for those who want a variety of outfits but do not want to go outside. This session lasts up to one hour.

60 Minute Outdoor Session - $375.00 minimum order (28 pose) This session is ideal for those who want just outdoor portraits. We will photograph you in up to two outfits outside using the Reedsburg area as your backdrop.  This session lasts up to one hour.

90 Minute Session - $450.00 minimum order (36 pose) We will photograph you in up to three outfits inside and one outfit outside. This session is perfect for those who want most of their session inside but would like a few outside.  This session lasts up to ninety minutes.

120 Minute Session - $600.00 minimum order (48 pose) We will photograph you in up to four outfits inside and two outfits outside. This session is perfect for those who want a wide variety of portraits both inside and outside.  This session lasts up to two hours.

You Make Up the Session - By Quote Only           

You tell us how many outfits you would like, how much time you would like to spend and where you would like to be photographed. This is perfect for the person that wants to be totally creative with their senior portraits. One thing to keep in mind, the more time we spend and the more locations we go to will have a higher minimum order. We will be happy to do what you would like, but we have to charge for our time.

How to prepare for your Senior Portrait Session...

This is probably the most important element of the portrait process. The choices you make on clothing, time of day and location will make or break your portraits. Yes, expression, lighting and other things will affect your portraits too. Let us take care of that part though. Use your imagination! What will make your portraits special? What are your hobbies and interests? The following items will help you make your portraits the best that they can be.

What do I wear?
For the traditional photographs you'll want to choose something more classic that won't be out of style in just a few years. Generally, darker clothing looks best in the head and shoulder portraits.

Now let's be casual! After the formal portraits, we'll switch gears and you can change into something friends will recognize you in. This is the time to wear the more contemporary styles.

Make sure it fits! The "super-oversized" clothes are in style but photographically they aren't the best. On the other hand, anything that is too tight may confine you and even make you look uncomfortable or bigger than you are in the portraits.

Choosing what is best for you!

Choose colors in clothing that compliment your skin tone. Have you gotten a lot of compliments when you wear a certain color - that just might be the thing to wear!

Avoid sunburns!  We all love the sun, but stay out of it a few days prior to your session.  A little color is attractive, but don't overdo!  We cannot change the redness of a burn even with retouching.

Express yourself!  We invite you to bring along anything that might personalize your session: sports equipment, pets, instruments, cars, etc.  Don't forget to bring a friend for your "buddy poses".  Just a reminder, we don't charge extra to photograph you with a friend.

What if I wear glasses?  Glasses cause distortion to your face and glares may be present from the lights.  Ask your optician to remove the lenses or borrow a pair of empty frames that match yours for your portrait session.  Contacts don't present any problems in portraits.

We have the miracle of retouching!  If you wake up the morning of your session with a brand new "zit", don't worry!  We have the ability to give you a perfect complexion in the final portraits.

Braces are now easily taken off your portraits!  Well, we don't actually remove them physically, but electronically they can be eliminated from your finished portraits.

After clothing, the expression is the most important part of your portraits and we will work very hard to give you a variety of expressions. Relax and enjoy your session.

Placing Your Order

Set an appointment to come to MPS Photography to order your portraits. Bring with you your preview booklet and a list of sizes that you would like. The only money that is due at the time you place your order is whatever you spend above the minimum order that has already been paid for.

This has never been easier than it is now! Before you always had to try to fit your order into some kind of package, try to trade for what you really wanted or you were always confused about how much it was going to cost. We've now made it really easy to figure everything out. All you have to do is decide which poses you want and what sizes you want. You decide how much everything is going to cost by when you order your portraits.  Now you get just what you want and you will know exactly how much everything costs at a glance.  Remember the money that you put down before your portrait session?  Now you can spend it on anything you want.

Your order will be done in approximately three weeks.  We will call you when everything is ready for you to pick up.

Since all of our portraits are completely custom in nature, we ask that you be prepared to pay for any additional orders at the time the order is placed.  If other arrangements are needed, we will do our best to work with you.  We accept most major credit cards.

It is agreed that rights to exclusive use and ownership of images, materials, and reproductions therefrom are reserved by MPS Photography for display, publicity or other use.

MPS Photography Guarantee

If you are not thrilled with your finished portraits, and they are not exactly as you thought they would be, let us know and we will have them remade to your satisfaction at no extra cost.

No Packages?
Packages make things complicated. For years we have tried to figure out how to make packages work for everyone's needs. Usually what happens is that clients pick out a package instead of picking out what they really want. Who knows better what your needs are than you? This is why we have removed packages from our portrait pricing. You now can create your own packages, and the portrait pricing list is very easy to read. You will know exactly how much your package is because the list is so simple.

Retouching
Basic retouching is included with every finished portrait. If you require something beyond the basics, we can do it. Just let us know what you would like done! Removing braces from a smile is not included in the basic retouching.

Reserved Rights
It is agreed that rights to exclusive use and ownership of images, materials, and reproductions therefore are reserved by MPS Photography for display, publicity or other use.
